Attorney General Pamela Bondi recently visited Port Tampa Bay, Florida’s largest port, where she was briefed by the Port’s CEO, Paul Anderson. The briefing covered the port’s role in national security and its function as a key entry point into the United States.
Discussions included the port’s efforts to safeguard against foreign threats to both physical and cyber security infrastructure. They also addressed securing the Panama Canal and ongoing collaboration with organizations such as the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) and the Coalition for America’s Gateways and Trade Corridors (CAGTC).
At the conclusion of the briefing, Attorney General Bondi expressed gratitude for those involved in protecting national security and facilitating commerce. She emphasized, “Our ports are often the first line of defense in protecting Americans from national security threats like human trafficking, drug smuggling, and cybercrime. It was an honor to spend time with Paul Anderson and his team, who are collaborating closely with government partners and doing incredible work to protect Floridians and our Nation in my hometown of Tampa.”
