Attorney General James Uthmeier appeared with Governor Ron DeSantis at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth, Florida, to address concerns about the 2020 Census and its impact on congressional apportionment. During the event, both officials discussed issues they believe affected Florida’s representation in Congress following the census.

“Florida was robbed by the left’s multi-year effort to rig the 2020 Census, and Floridians didn’t get the representation they deserve in Congress,” said Attorney General James Uthmeier. “President Trump called for a new Census, and I’m ready to work with Governor DeSantis to bring the president solutions and get it done.”

The remarks reflect ongoing discussions regarding how population counts from the census determine congressional seats for each state. Concerns have been raised by some state leaders about whether Florida received appropriate representation after the last census count.
