Dan Frenden, administrator at Balanced Healthcare, has been awarded the Florida Health Care Association’s (FHCA) 2025 Arthur H. Harris Government Services Award. This award was presented during FHCA’s Annual Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando and acknowledges an FHCA member who excels in advocacy efforts and significantly contributes to the Association’s legislative priorities. Frenden’s dedication to long-term care advocacy and leadership in engaging lawmakers on critical issues affecting Florida’s caregivers and residents were highlighted.

“Dan is a dedicated advocate whose leadership and ability to connect with legislators has created meaningful change for this profession,” said Emmett Reed, FHCA Chief Executive Officer. “He embodies the spirit of this award through his commitment to Florida’s long term care residents and caregivers and to the mission of our Association.”

With over 20 years of experience in long-term care, Frenden has held roles such as FHCA District President, Region Vice President, and active member of FHCA’s Legislative Committee and Florida Leaders alumni group. He frequently participates in FHCA’s Lobby Wednesdays, an initiative that connects long-term care professionals with lawmakers at Florida’s Capitol in Tallahassee. Frenden also hosts policymakers at his facility to provide them with insights into the long-term care environment. His storytelling ability about quality issues, changing resident demographics, and workforce challenges has bolstered FHCA’s influence at the state Capitol.

Previously recognized by FHCA as Administrator of the Year, this latest accolade marks Frenden’s second statewide honor within three years.

The 2025 Arthur H. Harris Government Services Award is part of Florida Health Care Association’s Long Term Care Excellence Achievement Awards sponsored by Elite Medical Staffing. These awards were presented during FHCA’s Annual Conference from July 13-17 at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando. They annually recognize a Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facility Administrator of the Year, a business partner, among others for their dedication to long-term care.
