Farm families across Florida recognized for sustainable practices

Eleven farm families from various counties in Florida have been acknowledged for their commitment to sustainability. These families represent a diverse range of agricultural operations and are recognized for their efforts in promoting sustainable farming practices.

The honored families include Wayne Oden from Oden Farm in Bradford County, Bryan Jones of J5 Farms in Columbia County, and the VanAernam family at Shamrock Sod in Dixie County. Evan Barton from North Florida Dairies in Gilchrist County and Dalton Tyre of 3 Rivers Hay and Cattle in Hamilton County also received recognition.

Additional honorees are John L Hart from Hart Family Farm and Tyler Putnal of Putnal Hay Farm, both located in Lafayette County. Josh Churchwell of Churchwell Family Farm in Madison County was acknowledged alongside Bill Gaylard from Bill Gaylard Family Farm and Ricky Aderholt of Aderholt Hay Farms, both based in Suwannee County. Finally, Derick and Christy Thomas from Thomas Beefmasters in Union County were also recognized.

These families have demonstrated a strong commitment to implementing sustainable practices within their farming operations, contributing positively to the environment and community.
