Florida’s private sector employment has seen a significant increase, with 128,100 jobs added over the year as of June 2025. This growth marks a 1.5% rise in employment and contributes to Florida being ranked by CNBC as the top economy in the nation for the third consecutive year. The state also climbed to third place in CNBC’s ranking of best states for business and secured second place for workforce development.

“Florida’s strong economy continues to lead the nation,” stated Secretary of Commerce J. Alex Kelly. He emphasized that strategic investments and reduced regulatory burdens are key factors driving this momentum.

Governor DeSantis recently allocated $10 million from the Job Growth Grant Fund to five colleges for aerospace industry-related construction needs. Since 2019, more than $10 billion has been directed towards workforce education, with $726.9 million earmarked in this year’s budget alone.

The state’s job growth rate has surpassed national figures for most months since April 2021, particularly in education and health services which saw an addition of 1,300 jobs last month. Unemployment remains low at 3.7%, consistently below national levels since November 2020.
