Florida added 7,300 jobs in July 2025, according to an announcement from FloridaCommerce. Over the past year, private sector employment in the state increased by 118,900 jobs, representing a growth rate of 1.4 percent.
The financial activities sector led job gains for the month with 5,200 new positions. The leisure and hospitality sector added 1,600 jobs, as did the government sector.
Since May 2020, employers in Florida have created jobs in 59 out of the last 63 months. The state’s unemployment rate stood at 3.7 percent in July and has remained below the national average for nearly five years.
“Florida’s private sector job growth rate has exceeded the national rate for 50 of the last 52 months since April 2021,” stated FloridaCommerce.
Job seekers have access to several resources through Employ Florida and CareerSource Florida’s network of local career centers. These services include career counseling, skills assessments, resume assistance and job placement support at no cost to users.
Additional programs are available for veterans and military families to help them transition into civilian employment or transfer professional licenses after relocating to Florida. The state also operates a Talent Pipeline Portal focused on aerospace and defense careers.
According to recent data, more than 408,000 jobs were posted online across Florida during July. Job seekers can register with Employ Florida to search local openings or pursue customized training opportunities through CareerSource Florida’s offerings.
