Florida closes recreational flounder harvest from October 15 through November 30

The recreational harvest of flounder in all Florida state and federal waters will be closed starting October 15 and will remain closed through November 30. The season is set to reopen on December 1. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, this closure is intended to protect flounder during the period when pre-spawning groups form, which helps ensure that more fish are able to reproduce each year.
