Florida’s Commissioner of Education, Manny Diaz, Jr., announced the selection of books for April as part of the Commissioner’s Book of the Month initiative. This monthly program aims to enhance literacy and encourage reading among students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

In April, the focus of the book selections is to honor the Month of the Military Child and highlight the contributions of military families. Commissioner Diaz expressed the significance of this initiative by stating, “April is designated as the Month of the Military Child, and this month, I am highlighting our military families. As we honor their sacrifices for our freedom, I encourage families to read their stories and teach their children about the military men and women that protect our nation.”

The program features five recommended books, each tailored to a specific grade range. Additional details about the selected books are available on the Florida Department of Education’s website.
