Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) recognized outstanding contributions to long-term care at its Annual Conference & Trade Show in Orlando, Florida. The 2025 Long Term Care Achievement awards honored leaders and volunteers dedicated to quality care for residents, staff, and the profession. Shining Stars Awards were also given for significant contributions to life enrichment, social services, food and nutrition, and health and safety.

Danette Wiley received the 2025 Volunteer of the Year award for her work at Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center. Over two decades, she has devoted more than 15 hours weekly to support staff and residents.

Gloria Baines was named the 2025 Joe Negron Resident of the Year. A resident of Avante at Ocala for seven years, Baines serves as Resident Council President.

Erica Henderson was awarded Nursing Home Administrator of the Year for her leadership at Middleburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Under her guidance, the center achieved a Five Star Rating and Joint Commission accreditation.

Lucille Bowers earned Assisted Living Facility Administrator of the Year for her work at Robert H. Jenkins Jr. State Veterans Domiciliary Home. Her leadership helped overcome staffing shortages during COVID-19.

Shedena Alexander received a Shining Star Life Enrichment Award as Director of Recreation at Island Lake Center. Her inclusive programs have had a lasting impact on residents’ lives.

Misty Kingsley was recognized with FHCA’s Compassion in Action Award as Social Services Director at Avante at Ormond Beach for her dedication to residents’ well-being.

Joanne Rossi earned Food and Nutrition Services Leader recognition as Director of Dining Services at Sabal Palms Health Care Center. Her commitment ensures nourishing meals for all.

Alan Turner received FHCA’s Plant Operations Impact Award as Utilities Maintenance Superintendent at Robert H. Jenkins State Veterans’ Domiciliary Home. He has supported his center since its construction over 36 years ago.
