Florida has emerged as a leading destination for business relocations in the United States, significantly outpacing other states such as Texas. Recent analysis by the Florida Chamber Foundation reveals that Florida experienced more than four times the number of business relocations compared to Texas. In contrast, states like California, Illinois, New Jersey, and New York saw net losses in this area.
Mark Wilson, President and CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, emphasized Florida’s position: “Florida is not only the #1 state in the nation to start a new business–it’s the #1 state to move your business.” He attributed this success to the “Florida 2030 Blueprint,” which focuses on policies that create a pro-jobs environment and aims to elevate Florida’s economy to one of the largest globally by 2030.
In 2025, Florida continues its trajectory as an attractive hub for business relocation and growth. This is supported by tax advantages, lawsuit reform, and state policies designed to nurture economic prosperity. The collaboration between the Florida Department of Commerce and the Florida Chamber Foundation has been crucial in maintaining Florida’s status as a top choice for businesses seeking relocation.
J. Alex Kelly, Florida Secretary of Commerce, noted: “The partnership between FloridaCommerce and the Florida Chamber Foundation in advancing the Florida 2030 Blueprint mission is instrumental in Florida remaining the #1 state to not only start or move a business but to call home.” He highlighted additional factors contributing to this trend: “while Florida is home to a favorable pro-business and tax climate, additional assets like our low crime rate and top-ranked education system continue to make Florida a top competitor.”
