The Florida Opportunity Fund (FOF) and Quantum Coast Capital (QCC) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together on advancing quantum technology investment and innovation in Florida. The agreement was formalized during Quantum Beach 2025, an event in West Palm Beach that highlights the state’s efforts to become a center for next-generation technology.

Robert Harvey, President and Executive Director of the Florida Opportunity Fund, stated, “We are proud to collaborate with Quantum Coast Capital to advance Florida’s leadership in quantum technology. This MOU reflects our shared commitment to fostering innovation through strategic investment. By aligning resources and expertise, we are creating new opportunities to expand Florida’s quantum sector and attract cutting-edge companies and talent to Florida.”

Under the terms of the MOU, FOF and QCC will identify, evaluate, and co-invest in companies working on quantum-related technologies such as computing, networking, and sensing applications within the state.

Matt Cimaglia, managing partner of Quantum Coast Capital, said, “Florida has a history of taking big swings on technology, and today is one of those moments. Through this collaboration, we’re not just funding innovation — we’re helping shape a quantum ecosystem that brings together entrepreneurs, researchers, and state leadership.”

Quantum Coast Capital is based in South Florida and focuses exclusively on quantum investments. The firm works with public institutions, private companies, and researchers to bring new quantum technologies from research labs into commercial markets.

Hillary Matchett, Chief Investment Officer at Quantum Coast Capital added: “We see a tremendous opportunity to align state investment strategy with global innovation trends. Florida’s universities are graduating incredible talent, and this MOU helps ensure that the next generation of founders doesn’t have to leave the state to find opportunity in quantum technology.”

Quantum Beach 2025 gathered leaders from government agencies, academic institutions, and industry groups to discuss developments in quantum technology. The event showcased how advancements in fields like quantum computing are contributing to economic growth in Florida.

The Florida Opportunity Fund provides venture capital for emerging companies in the state. It works with entrepreneurs and other organizations to strengthen early-stage financing opportunities. More information can be found at www.FloridaOpportunityFund.com.
