Michael Meekins, Executive Director of the Port of Palm Beach, has been elected as the new Chair of the Florida Ports Council (FPC) Board of Directors for the 2025-2027 term. The announcement was made following a recent election by the board.

Hydi Webb, PortMiami’s Port Director and CEO, was reelected to serve as Vice Chair. David Wirth, Enterprise Facilities Planning Manager at Port St. Pete, will continue in his role as Secretary/Treasurer.

“It’s an honor to receive the confidence of port directors from across the state entrusting me to serve and represent Florida’s 16 seaports,” said Michael Meekins, Executive Director of the Port of Palm Beach. “Florida’s seaports play a vital role in the state’s economic development and are a critical part of our supply chain to ensure that Floridians have much needed food, fuel and healthcare supplies.”

Meekins became Executive Director at the Port of Palm Beach in 2023 after serving as its Director of Business Development. His experience includes roles such as Senior Director of Cruise and Port Operations at Port Canaveral, senior vice president in aviation operations, and project manager leader with the New York Power Authority.

Hydi Webb brings almost three decades of expertise in cruise and cargo business development. As PortMiami’s director, she manages operations at one of the world’s largest cruise ports and among America’s fastest-growing container ports.

David Wirth will continue his duties overseeing enterprise facilities planning at Port St. Pete while serving on FPC’s board leadership team.

“As a leading maritime state, Florida’s seaports work hard to ensure that Floridians have access to critical commodities essential for our growing economy. I’m confident that our new slate of officers will work to ensure Florida’s cargo and cruise industry continue to outperform others,” said Mike Rubin, President and CEO, Florida Ports Council.
