In 2024, the Florida Realtors Clean Up Florida Waters initiative saw significant participation with 141 events covering 185 miles. A total of 3,040 participants contributed 520 volunteer hours, collecting 41% more debris compared to the previous year.

“Realtors know that our beautiful beaches and outstanding waterways are one of the major reasons so many people love to live in – and visit – the Sunshine State,” stated Tim Weisheyer, the 2025 Florida Realtors President and broker-owner of Dream Builders Realty and dbrCommercial Real Estate Services in Central Florida. “We know every one of us can make a difference. Working together, we can help preserve our waterways so that everyone can enjoy them now and for future generations.”

The cleanup effort is in its fifth year and encourages both Realtors and residents to organize community events aimed at cleaning various water bodies including lakes, rivers, streams, retention ponds, bays, Intracoastal Waterway, Gulf of Mexico, and Atlantic Ocean.

The program also promotes collaboration with existing environmental groups such as the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA), local CCA chapters, state Waterkeepers organizations, Captains for Clean Water, and Keep Florida Beautiful.

Florida Realtors holds a Gold Sun Level partnership with Keep Florida Beautiful. This partnership allows local affiliate organizations to join Realtor groups in their waterway cleanup efforts.

Stellar MLS is the main sponsor for this initiative while additional support comes from Real MLS and Coastal Conservation Association (CCA).
