Florida has achieved a new milestone in tourism, setting a record with 143 million visitors in 2024. This marks an increase of 1.7% over the previous year. The state attracted 130.65 million domestic travelers, 8.94 million from overseas, and 3.41 million Canadians.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida received 41.2 million visitors in the first quarter of 2025, maintaining its status as a leading travel destination nationally and internationally.

“Florida’s tourism industry leads the nation,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “These results are proof that our freedom-first policies work—and that Florida remains the best place to visit, work, and raise a family.”

In the first quarter of 2025, domestic travelers made up 91.9% of total visitation with 37.9 million visitors, marking a slight increase from Q1 2024. Overseas tourists numbered at 2.1 million while Canadian visitors totaled 1.2 million.

Regarding travel methods among domestic non-resident tourists, air travel accounted for 35.8%, while non-air travel was chosen by 64.2%. Florida’s airports saw significant activity with a total of 29.4 million enplanements; notable growth occurred at Punta Gorda (+23.6%), St. Petersburg–Clearwater (+7.7%), and Daytona Beach (+7.4%).

Hotel performance also showed improvement with a +2.4% increase in rooms sold and an Average Daily Rate (ADR) rise to $227.22 (+2%). Occupancy rates reached up to 75%.

The steady rise in tourism underscores Florida’s broad appeal and economic impact, supporting various sectors across the state.
