FloridaCommerce announced on Apr. 6 that funding is now available through the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which supports Neighborhood Revitalization, Housing Rehabilitation, Commercial Revitalization, and Economic Development initiatives.
The announcement matters because it provides municipalities and counties with resources to improve local infrastructure and support economic growth. Interested applicants are instructed to email CDBG@Commerce.fl.gov to request access to the electronic application portal or receive further instructions on how to submit applications. All submissions must be received by 5 p.m. Eastern Time on May 5, 2026.
A webinar will be held on April 8, 2026, offering technical assistance and an overview of the application process for prospective applicants. FloridaCommerce has already hosted 117 technical assistance meetings with local governments in preparation for this funding cycle.
The Florida Small Cities CDBG program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by FloridaCommerce. Since 2019, more than $157 million has been awarded to over 140 communities through this initiative.
