FloridaCommerce has announced the start of the Utility Relocation Reimbursement Grant Program (URRGP), which will provide funding to communications service providers for costs related to relocating communications infrastructure at the request of county or municipal governments.

The program was established by House Bill 703, known as Utility Relocation, during the 2025 legislative session. Governor Ron DeSantis signed it into law on June 5, 2025. According to Section 337.4031 of Florida Statutes, FloridaCommerce is responsible for administering the program, and it is funded through monthly distributions from the local communications services tax.

Eligible applicants are those providers subject to Chapter 202 of Florida Statutes. To qualify for reimbursement, relocations must be formally requested by a qualifying government entity and have a project completion date no earlier than October 1, 2025.

For more information about how to apply for the Utility Relocation Reimbursement Grant Program, interested parties can visit the Utility Reimbursement Grant Program webpage or contact URRGP@commerce.fl.gov.
