FloridaCommerce has announced that more than $7 million is now available through the Non-Custodial Parent Employment Program (NCPEP). The program aims to support non-custodial parents in becoming more self-sufficient by providing employment and training opportunities.
The funds will be administered by Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services. Organizations interested in applying for funding can find the application on their website, with a submission deadline of September 4, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Eligible applicants include governmental and quasi-governmental entities, nonprofit corporations, tribal governments, and Local Workforce Development Boards.
The NCPEP funds are intended to help organizations deliver services such as job search assistance, resume building, parenting skills development, financial literacy training, and other resources for non-custodial parents who are unemployed or underemployed. The program may also be used to strengthen foster family stability.
According to FloridaCommerce, effective implementation of the program involves delivering training and resources to non-custodial parents, assisting with job search efforts and skill-building activities, as well as reporting on outputs, outcomes, challenges, and successes.
“Eligible organizations can receive funds to provide services to non-custodial parents that will create a pathway for them to achieve higher levels of self-sufficiency through employment and training opportunities,” the announcement stated.
