Today, the Florida Department of Commerce announced its support for the appointment of Bryan Griffin as the new President and CEO of VISIT FLORIDA. Griffin, who has a strong background in strategic leadership and public service, is expected to enhance Florida’s status as a leading travel destination.

VISIT FLORIDA is crucial in promoting tourism and collaborating with businesses to bolster Florida’s economy. The appointment of Griffin indicates a commitment to continued innovation and growth in the state’s tourism industry.

“Bryan Griffin’s leadership experience, commitment to public service and deep understanding of Florida’s strengths make him well-positioned to lead VISIT FLORIDA into this next chapter,” stated J. Alex Kelly, Secretary of Commerce. “As Florida continues to break records in tourism, attracting visitors from across the nation and around the world, Bryan’s strategic vision and drive will be essential in sustaining and expanding that momentum.”

Eric Marshall, Senior Vice President of Destination Sales at Universal Orlando Resort and Chair of VISIT FLORIDA Board of Directors added: “On behalf of the Board, we warmly welcome Bryan Griffin in his new role with VISIT FLORIDA. Bryan’s experience, commitment to public service, and extensive experience in marketing and communications will ensure Florida continues to be the #1 tourism destination.”

Griffin hails from Tampa, FL where he has worked as Communications Director for Governor Ron DeSantis over the past three years. His background includes expertise in communications, marketing, management as well as entrepreneurship with small business ventures such as a craft beverage establishment.

Florida’s ongoing growth in tourism not only highlights its appeal but also strengthens its economy by supporting jobs and businesses statewide. With sustained investment and promotion strategies, Florida aims for even greater success as a top U.S. tourist destination. Craig Thomas will remain at VISIT FLORIDA as Chief Operations Officer following his interim presidency.
