Florida State Parks will offer free admission on Memorial Day, May 26, allowing residents and visitors to explore the state’s parks without an entry fee. This initiative encourages people to enjoy Florida’s diverse natural landscapes, including beaches, springs, trails, and historic sites.

Chuck Hatcher, Director of Florida State Parks, emphasized the opportunity this day presents: “Florida State Parks are where unforgettable summer memories are made. Free admission on Memorial Day is a perfect opportunity to discover a new park, revisit a favorite and enjoy everything our award-winning parks have to offer.”

While enjoying outdoor activities, visitors are also encouraged to remember those who served in the military. Several state parks provide opportunities for reflection through preserved military and cultural history.

Florida State Parks has received four Gold Medals and is currently in contention for a fifth one as the nation’s top state park system.

The free admission applies only to day-use entry and excludes certain parks such as Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park and others. Additional fees like overnight stays or rentals still apply.
