The Florida Seaport Transportation and Economic Development Council (FSTED Council) has elected new officers for the 2025-2027 term. Joshua Revord, P.E., who serves as Port Director at the Port of Fort Pierce, will take on the role of chair. Joseph Morris, CEO and Port Director at Port Everglades, was chosen as vice chair. Lance Scott, Port Director at the Port of Pensacola, was elected secretary.
“Florida’s 16 deepwater seaports are major economic drivers for the state, moving over 100 tons of cargo each year across the globe, and turning Florida into the ‘Cruise Capitol of the World’. Our ports play an essential role in supplying critical commodities, like food, fuel and healthcare supplies, that are fundamental to our daily lives, economic stability and overall well-being. I look forward to supporting the FSTED Council’s continued, proven stewardship of our seaports through strategic and timely investments,” said Joshua Revord, P.E., Chair of the FSTED Council and Port Director, Port of Fort Pierce.
The FSTED Council oversees local implementation of capital improvement projects for Florida’s seaports as part of its economic development responsibilities. The council includes port directors from all 16 Florida seaports as well as representatives from the Florida Department of Transportation and FloridaCommerce.
Joshua Revord is a native of St. Lucie County. He leads the St. Lucie County Department of Port, Inlet & Beaches and previously worked as Senior Coastal Engineer for its Erosion District. Revord is a registered professional engineer in Florida with degrees in ocean engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology and coastal and oceanographic engineering from the University of Florida.
Joseph Morris began his position as CEO and Port Director at Port Everglades in July 2024 after serving with the Massachusetts Port Authority. He holds a business management degree from the University of Phoenix along with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
Lance Scott became Port Director at Pensacola after retiring from a more than three-decade career in the U.S. Navy where he achieved the rank of Rear Admiral. He graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy with a degree in marine transportation and also earned a master’s degree from the Naval War College.
