The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will host a seatrout symposium on August 27, 2025. The event is set to take place at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The symposium aims to bring together stakeholders, scientists, and fisheries managers for discussions about the spotted seatrout fishery in the state. Attendees will have opportunities to participate in interactive sessions that are intended to influence future management of this fishery. The agenda includes presentations on the results from an updated spotted seatrout stock assessment, as well as reviews of habitat conservation and restoration efforts throughout Florida. Management considerations related to the fishery will also be discussed.

“The summit will be held at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, 100 N. Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach, FL, 32118. To register and participate in person go to My.FWC.com/SeatroutSymposium and click the red ‘Seatrout Symposium Registration’ button.”

Sponsorship has played a role in making this event possible. “This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, including our Double Diamond sponsor, Coastal Conservation Association of Florida.”

For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available at TheFloridaChannel.org. Comments and questions can be submitted via email to Marine@MyFWC.com for potential inclusion during the symposium.

Additional details about registration and the event agenda can be found at MyFWC.com/SeatroutSymposium.
