Governor Ron DeSantis has signed the 2025 Patriot Day Proclamation, directing that the flags of the United States and State of Florida be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on September 11. This observance marks the National Day of Service and Remembrance, known as Patriot Day.

The day is set aside to honor those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. By lowering flags, Florida joins the rest of the country in commemorating this significant event.
