The Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) has expressed approval of the recent passage of a REINS-style policy in Louisiana, which was led by Senator Reese. This legislation aims to increase transparency and accountability by ensuring that elected representatives, rather than unelected bureaucrats, have a say in rulemaking processes that impact citizens’ lives.

Tarren Bragdon, President and CEO of FGA, stated, “REINS is a bold step toward restoring proper representative government in Louisiana.” He emphasized the importance of Senator Reese’s leadership in placing Louisianans at the center of significant decisions affecting their lives. According to Bragdon, this approach exemplifies what responsive and accountable governance should look like.

Bragdon further commented on the influence of bureaucrats in decision-making processes: “All too often, bureaucrats think they run the show—whether it’s Washington or Baton Rouge. And the unsettling reality is, they frequently do.” He described REINS as a mechanism to reduce administrative control over individuals’ lives and finances while reinstating checks and balances that safeguard liberty and individual rights. Bragdon credited Senator Reese’s leadership with returning governance power to the people of Louisiana.

The FGA is a non-profit organization advocating for public policy solutions that aim to provide opportunities for all Americans to achieve their aspirations. More information about their work can be found at TheFGA.org.
