Pensacola’s mayor, D.C. Reeves, has announced the appointment of Lance Scott as the new Director of the Port of Pensacola. This appointment aligns with the city’s focus on leadership and development.

Lance Scott comes with a wealth of experience in port management and economic advancement, providing him the tools needed to improve the port’s functions, boost its financial influence, and further establish its importance to Pensacola.

Before this role, Scott served in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Rear Admiral after over three decades. He attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and also holds a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.

Scott stated, “I’m excited to be joining the Port of Pensacola team. I look forward to working closely with port tenants and city leadership to ensure our port remains a strategic asset that is economically sustainable, environmentally sound and safe, and builds on Mayor Reeves’ vision of bringing new and emerging opportunities to our city.”
