Seventeenth Circuit JNC schedules public interviews for judicial vacancies

The Seventeenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission has scheduled interviews to fill judicial vacancies following the elevation of Circuit Court Judge Jonathan D. Lott and the resignation of County Court Judge Mardi Levey Cohen. The interviews will be held on January 15, 2026, starting at 9 a.m. at the Broward County Bar Association in Fort Lauderdale.

Applicants scheduled for interviews include Cullin O’Brien, Janice Carine Haywood, James Robert Harris, Lisa Beth Glick, Yves Pierre Laventure, Rebecca Ann Frieden, Jeremy Franker, Lucy Ramos Miller, Robyn Lynn Vines, Brooke Elise Latta, Tierrel Mathis, and Ta’Ronce Montavious Stowes. The session is open to the public.

The commission consists of Camille Coolidge Shotwell (Chair), Eric Yesner (Vice Chair), William G. McCormick, Thomas D. Oates, Valerie Barnhart, Alice K. Sum, John H. Richards, Levi G. Williams Jr., and Joseph S. Van de Bogart.

The purpose of these interviews is to select candidates to recommend for appointment to the judicial vacancies in the Seventeenth Circuit.
