JMI comments on President Biden's changes to Title IX

The James Madison Institute has released a statement addressing President Biden's recent changes to Title IX. Logan Elizabeth Padgett, the contact for the statement, provided remarks from Dr. Robert McClure, President and CEO of The James Madison Institute, and Lindsay Killen, Vice President of National Strategy and Director of the K. Earl Durden Center for the Advancement of Liberty.

Dr. McClure emphasized the mission of the K. Earl Durden Center for the Advancement of Liberty at The James Madison Institute, which is to promote federalism principles. He stated: "Currently at stake are two fundamentally opposed ways of life – one in which economic reality, the rule of law, and the separation of powers matter and one in which mob rule and economic and cultural Leftism dictate the conduct of every second of our lives." He commended Governor DeSantis, Secretary Diaz, and other leaders who oppose what he described as "President Biden’s unconstitutional changes to Title IX."

Lindsay Killen criticized the Biden Administration's approach: "The Biden Administration’s actions demonstrate a complete disregard and disrespect for the separation of powers and First Amendment constitutional protections." She further noted that while governing by agency fiat may be easier, true leadership requires accountability to the rule of law. Killen praised Governor DeSantis and Secretary Diaz for their resistance against what she termed as attempts to undermine America's federalist system.
