TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Governor Ron DeSantis announced a judicial appointment to the Third District Court of Appeal on June 28, 2024.
Kansas Gooden, a resident of Pinecrest, has been appointed to serve as Judge on the Third District Court of Appeal. Gooden is currently a Shareholder and the Appellate Practice Group Leader at Boyd & Jenerette, PA. She has been with the firm since 2009.
Gooden is board certified in appellate practice and has managed over 400 civil appeals throughout her career. She earned her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and her juris doctorate from St. Thomas University.
This appointment fills the judicial vacancy created by the passing of Judge Hendon.
