Nine long-term care providers recognized for demonstrating outstanding performance and quality outcomes
Tallahassee, Fla. – The Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) has announced that eight skilled nursing centers and one assisted living facility have earned the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) 2024 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award. This distinction is the second of three progressive award levels through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which recognizes providers nationwide for demonstrating high-quality outcomes for staff and residents in long-term care.
The following nine FHCA members received the Silver - Achievement in Quality Award for 2024:
- Avante at Leesburg
- Edward J. Healey Rehab & Nursing Center – Riviera Beach
- First Coast Health & Rehabilitation Center – Jacksonville
- Flagler Health and Rehabilitation Center – Bunnell
- Hazel Cypen Tower – Miami
- Lee Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit – Fort Myers
- PruittHealth – Fleming Island
- PruittHealth – Southwood in Tallahassee
- Treasure Isle Care Center – North Bay Village
"We are immensely proud of our members who have earned the Silver National Quality Award,” said Emmett Reed, FHCA Chief Executive Officer. “This achievement reflects the compassionate long-term care being delivered in Florida’s care centers every day. Our members are constantly striving to be the gold standard in exceptional care, and we’re pleased to see them recognized for working hard to make a difference in the lives of their residents.”
To earn the Silver - Achievement in Quality Award, a long-term care center must first achieve the Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award before progressing to the Silver level. Applicants adhere to criteria from the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program to evaluate and improve their processes systematically, leading to sustained positive results.
Florida now has 46 Silver National Quality Award recipients. Additionally, there are 126 long-term care centers in Florida that have achieved Bronze National Quality Award status, with three nursing centers having achieved Gold, the highest award distinction.
These nine care centers are among 139 long-term care organizations across 38 states that received the Silver award.
"Earning the Silver award is a remarkable achievement that highlights the persistent efforts and high standards of care and service maintained by these organizations,” said Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair.
Florida continues to lead nationally in providing high-standard care for seniors and people with disabilities, as reflected on FHCA's Long Term Care Quality Dashboard. Over 70% of care centers in Florida have earned a CMS 4-star or 5-star Quality Measures Rating, while 75% of nursing centers have been awarded one or more Quality Recognitions.
Florida’s National Quality Award recipients will be honored during FHCA’s 2024 Annual Conference & Trade Show from July 21-25 at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando as part of the Quality Award & Scholarship Ceremony and Celebration sponsored by Medline Industries.
The National Quality Awards will be officially presented during Delivering Solutions 24, the AHCA/NCAL national Convention & Expo from October 6-9, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.
