Port of Palm Beach highlights coral relocation at ocean night event

The Port of Palm Beach recently participated in the All About the Ocean Night at Roger Dean Stadium, where the Jupiter Hammerheads played against the Clearwater Threshers. The event, held in June, aimed to promote marine conservation and education.

Baseball fans had the chance to learn about the Port of Palm Beach’s initiatives to relocate stony corals ahead of waterside construction projects. Attendees also received promotional items from the Port. The Florida Ports Council was present and organized a coloring contest highlighting the importance of the shipping industry in delivering goods to local grocery stores.

“We were thrilled to have participated in All About the Ocean Night at Roger Dean Stadium,” said Executive Director Michael Meekins. “It was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness about our coral relocation efforts and engage with the community in a fun and educational setting.”

The stadium also collaborated with 4Ocean, which committed to removing one pound of trash from South Florida waters for every ticket sold and 100 pounds of trash for every run scored.
