Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd will be available to the media this evening to discuss Florida’s 2024 Primary Election. The press event is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time at the Department of State’s R.A. Gray Building in Tallahassee.
The media availability will take place in the Gallery for Innovation and the Arts on the first floor. Members of the press are required to show their credentials upon arrival.

Preliminary election results will be accessible on Election Night via the Florida Election Watch website, FloridaElectionWatch.Gov. It is important to note that while polls in Florida close at 7:00 p.m., voting across the state will not conclude until 7:00 p.m. Central Time/8:00 p.m. Eastern Time due to Florida's two time zones. Preliminary results will be released at that time, allowing visitors to track outcomes by county and compare state and county contest results.
The results for the Primary Election will become official once certified by the Elections Canvassing Commission on August 29, 2024.
