FWC to host public meeting on Orange Creek Basin activities

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will host a public meeting on October 10 from 6-8 p.m. to discuss FWC activities and conditions on Orange, Lochloosa, and Newnans lakes. The meeting will also feature guest speakers from the St. Johns River Water Management District and the Alachua County Environmental Protection Department.

The meeting will be held at Sun Retreats Ocala Orange Lake's Recreation Hall, located at 18545 NW 45th Ave, Citra, FL 32113.

The agenda for the evening is as follows:

- Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

- Updates on FWC Activities and Lake Conditions at 6:00 p.m.

- Break at 6:45 p.m.

- Water Quality Trends in the Orange Creek Basin presented by SJRWMD at 7:00 p.m.

- Updates from the Alachua County Environmental Protection Department on Lochloosa Lake Nutrient Assessment and Septic System Upgrade Rebate Program at 7:30 p.m.

- Meeting ends at 8:00 p.m.
