Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson has announced the launch of a new Natural Disaster Recovery Loan Program aimed at supporting Florida farmers affected by Hurricane Helene. The program is designed to provide financial assistance to those who have suffered losses due to the hurricane.
Simpson emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "Florida's farmers are essential to our state's economy and food supply. This loan program will help them recover from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene and continue their vital work."
The loan program is intended to cover various needs, including repairing damaged infrastructure, replacing lost equipment, and covering operational costs during the recovery period. Farmers who have experienced significant damage can apply for these loans through the Department of Agriculture.
"Our goal is to ensure that no farmer is left behind in the wake of this disaster," Simpson added. "We are committed to providing the necessary resources and support to help our agricultural community rebuild and thrive."
Applications for the loan program will be available starting next week, with detailed information on eligibility criteria and application procedures provided on the Department's website.
