Florida Realtors® has announced the administration of two relief programs to assist those affected by recent hurricanes. The Disaster Relief Fund aims to address housing challenges within the Realtor community following natural disasters. Additionally, grants from the National Association of Realtors' (NAR) Realtors Relief Foundation (RRF) provide financial aid to any Floridian impacted by storms with housing-related needs.
The assistance covers monthly mortgage expenses for primary residences damaged during Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton in September and October 2024, as well as rental costs due to displacement from these hurricanes. The maximum grant amount per household is $1,000, and applicants should submit only one application if impacted by both hurricanes.
Applications for RRF assistance related to these events will close on April 2, 2025. Eligibility requires recipients to be full-time Florida residents who are U.S. citizens or legally admitted for residence in the United States. The program strictly focuses on housing relief; other expenses such as second mortgages, clothing, appliances, equipment, and vehicle-related costs are not covered.
Aid distribution depends on fund availability and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. More information about applying can be found on the Florida Realtors website.
