Governor DeSantis appoints four to state board for architecture

Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of four individuals to the Board of Architecture and Interior Design. The appointees are Ivette A. Arango, Charles Clary, Beverly Frank, and Peter Jones.

Ivette A. Arango from Coral Gables is the Owner and Principal Interior Designer at Ivette Arango Interiors. She was honored with the 2019 Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Renovation and Restoration Project Award. Her educational background includes a bachelor's degree in design and a master's degree in architecture from the University of Florida.

Charles Clary hails from Baker and is the former Owner and President of DAG Architects. His career includes service as a Florida State Senator and in the United States Navy. Clary has received the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects President’s Award and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He holds bachelor's degrees in architecture and arts in environmental design from Auburn University.

Beverly Frank resides in St. Petersburg where she serves as Principal and Architect at BFRANK Studios, LLC. She is actively involved with her community through her role on the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, having previously served as President of the American Institute of Architects of Florida. Frank's academic credentials include a bachelor's degree in art education and a master's degree in architecture from the University of South Florida.

Peter Jones, based in Port St. Lucie, formerly held the position of Director of Architecture & Design at Atlantic Fields Club. He has also been appointed to serve on the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board previously. Jones completed his bachelor's degree in architecture at the University of Florida followed by a master's degree in architecture from Rice University.

These appointments await confirmation by the Florida Senate.
