Florida Secretary of State discusses election details amid general election

Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd is scheduled to address the media regarding the state's 2024 General Election. The event will take place at the Department of State’s R.A. Gray Building in Tallahassee at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The press briefing will be held in the Gallery for Innovation and the Arts on the first floor, with media representatives required to present their credentials.

Preliminary unofficial election results for Florida's Primary Election will be accessible on the Florida Election Watch website, FloridaElectionWatch.gov, starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Due to Florida's two time zones, polls close at 7:00 p.m. local time.

Visitors to FloridaElectionWatch.gov can monitor voter turnout by county and statewide from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. local time. The Division of Elections also provides daily updates on early voting and vote-by-mail ballot statistics based on reports from each county's Supervisor of Elections.

Counties will update their websites hourly, beginning at 7:00 p.m. local time, with information on received and uncounted vote-by-mail ballots as canvassing boards proceed with counting.

The official results for the General Election are expected to be certified by the Elections Canvassing Commission on November 19, 2024.
