Carnival Cruise extends Jacksonville service through 2026 with future extension options

The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) and Carnival Cruise Line have agreed to extend their cruise service from Jacksonville through 2026, with the possibility of further extensions until 2030. The agreement ensures that the Carnival Elation, which accommodates 2,697 passengers, will continue its year-round voyages to The Bahamas from JAXPORT’s North Jacksonville Cruise Terminal.

This new contract prolongs the cruise service for an additional two years and includes options for four one-year renewals. Eric Green, CEO of JAXPORT, stated, "The continued growth of our cruise program is another way we create jobs and economic impact for our region and state." He also expressed gratitude towards Carnival for their commitment to Jacksonville, noting it as a reason for increased tourism in the city.

Carnival's presence at JAXPORT spans two decades during which over three million passengers have embarked on cruises from Jacksonville. In response to this ongoing partnership, JAXPORT has implemented several enhancements at the cruise terminal. These include a new parking area designed for easier access, an upgraded VIP Lounge, and an improved boarding platform allowing entry on the Promenade level.

The cruise industry in Jacksonville contributes significantly to the local economy by supporting nearly 800 jobs and generating more than $187 million annually in economic impact for Northeast Florida.
