Port Everglades marked the return of Crystal on November 9, as the cruise line resumed its winter homeport operations. The rebranded luxury line introduced the refurbished Crystal Serenity, a 740-passenger ship featuring larger suites with artisanal finishes, a new pickleball court, and an industry-leading space-to-guest ratio.
The welcoming ceremony included Crystal Serenity’s Captain Vincent Tallaird, Broward County Commissioner Steven Geller, Port Everglades Chief of Staff Peg Buchan, leadership from Seafarers’ House and Visit Lauderdale, along with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Broward Sheriff’s Office representatives.
Joseph Morris, CEO and Port Director of Port Everglades stated, “Our port is home to one of the most diverse collections of cruise ships and Crystal’s reimagined luxury ships fit in perfectly. We look forward to welcoming their guests.”
Crystal's return follows Port Everglades' announcement of surpassing its previous cruise passenger record with a preliminary count of 4.01 million guests for Fiscal Year 2024. The port anticipates reaching 4.4 million guests during Fiscal Year 2025.
