Bass boat giveaway highlights TrophyCatch's commitment to conservation

One lucky angler will soon be the recipient of a brand-new bass boat package during a live drawing at the Bobby Lane High School Cup Bass Fishing Tournament in Lake Wales on December 7. This event is part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) TrophyCatch program, celebrating its 12th season of rewarding anglers who contribute to bass fishing and conservation efforts throughout Florida.

The boat package includes a Phoenix Bass Boat Pro 819, powered by a 200 horsepower Mercury Marine motor. It also features Lowrance HDLive electronics, a Ghost Trolling Motor, and a Power-Pole Shallow Water Anchor System. The prize is valued at $65,000. The TrophyCatch program has partnered with WrapThis, a Florida-based company, to visually promote the initiative through their wraps and graphic capabilities.

“This incredible boat package is made possible through the support of companies like Phoenix Bass Boats and Mercury Marine, who share our passion for bass fishing and conservation,” said Tom Graef, director of FWC’s Division of Freshwater Fisheries Management. “We are thrilled to celebrate 12 years of success with the TrophyCatch program and to reward one lucky angler with this amazing prize!”

The drawing will occur on Saturday, December 7, following the 2 p.m. weigh-in at Camp Mack, a Guy Harvey Lodge, Marina & RV Resort in Lake Wales. The public is welcome to attend this event where the final angler drawn will win the grand prize.

A live reverse drawing will determine the winner from five randomly selected TrophyCatch registrants and club winners. Finalists will be announced on the TrophyCatch Facebook page: Facebook.com/TrophyCatchFlorida.

The Bobby Lane Cup is an annual nonprofit youth tournament that raises funds for educational scholarships for high school seniors interested in bass fishing. Teams from southern states compete for the title of BLC Champion.

TrophyCatch is a citizen-science conservation program that rewards anglers who catch, document, and release largemouth bass weighing eight pounds or more. Data collected through this program assists FWC in enhancing and promoting bass fishing across Florida. Anglers wishing to participate in next year’s boat drawing can register at TrophyCatch.com.
