From November 11 to November 15, Governor Ron DeSantis will lead a trade and business development mission to Italy. The delegation, consisting of 85 representatives from various Florida industries, will visit Rome, Viareggio, Florence, Turin, and Milan. The mission aims to foster economic growth opportunities for Florida by strengthening ties with one of its top twenty international trade partners.
Governor Ron DeSantis emphasized the importance of the relationship between Italy and Florida: “Italy and Florida share a special relationship as peninsular entities with many shared industries, and I was grateful that Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni invited our Florida delegation to visit.” He added that the mission is expected to bring new investments to Florida.
FloridaCommerce Secretary Alex Kelly noted the significance of the upcoming mission: “Next week, Governor Ron DeSantis will embark on a trade mission to Italy to build political and economic relationships to benefit the state of Florida.” Kelly highlighted that both regions have strong industries in military defense, aerospace, marine life sciences, and health technology.
