Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Lindsey Brown and the reappointment of Maria Alba-Quesada and Meghan Collins to the Council for Early Grade Success.
Lindsey Brown currently serves as the Vice Chancellor for Literacy Achievement for the Florida Department of Education’s Division of Public Schools. Her previous roles include Executive Director of Just Read, Florida! and Assistant Principal for Leon County Public Schools. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Florida State University.
Maria Alba-Quesada is appointed as Academic Director of Curriculum and Instruction at South Prep Scholars Academy. Her past experience includes serving as Principal at both South Prep Scholars Academy and Miami Community Charter School. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Barry University, a master’s degree in leadership of educational organizations from American Intercontinental University, and is pursuing a doctorate in higher education from Concordia University Chicago.
Meghan Collins holds the position of Special Strategic Initiatives Director for the Florida Department of Children and Families. Previously, she was Executive Staff Director and Director of Communications for the Florida Department of Education. Collins earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Louisiana State University.
