Governor DeSantis appoints five members to Board of Professional Engineers

Governor Ron DeSantis has announced appointments to the Board of Professional Engineers. Brock Shrader joins the board, while James Gonzalez, John Pistorino, Denise Ramsey, and Pankaj “P.J.” Shah have been reappointed.

Brock Shrader from Orlando is currently the President of Wilson & Girgenti, P.A. He has been recognized by Florida Trend in 2022 and 2023 as part of the Best Companies to Work For. Shrader holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a juris doctor from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.

James Gonzalez, based in Jacksonville, co-founded Cobb & Gonzalez, P.A. In 2015, he joined the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps as a reservist. He is active in his community as Licensing Co-Chair of the Florida Bar’s Real Property and Construction Law Section and was named a 2023 Florida Super Lawyer by the Jacksonville Business Journal. His educational background includes a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of South Florida and both a master's degree and juris doctor from Villanova University.

John Pistorino resides in Pinecrest and serves as President of Pistorino & Alam Consulting Engineers, Inc. He is involved with several professional organizations including the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Florida Engineering Society. Pistorino earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his master’s degree from the University of Miami, both in civil engineering.

Denise Ramsey hails from Jacksonville where she is Vice President and Chief Engineer for Haskell Architects & Engineers. She previously chaired the Design-Build Institute of America and now participates in the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. Ramsey obtained her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of South Florida followed by an MBA at Jacksonville University.

Pankaj “P.J.” Shah is located in Clearwater serving as President and CEO at Cumbey & Fair, Inc. He engages with his community through memberships such as those with the Florida Engineering Society and Countryside Rotary Club. Shah completed his undergraduate studies at University of Baroda before obtaining a master’s degree at University of Oklahoma, both in civil engineering.

These appointments are pending confirmation by the Florida Senate.
