Today, the Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) underscored its achievements following the signing of the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Focus on Florida’s Future Budget by Governor Ron DeSantis. The budget aims to position Florida as a leader in financial modernization and an attractive location for the financial services industry.
OFR Commissioner Russell C. Weigel, III expressed gratitude towards Governor DeSantis, stating, “Thank you, Governor DeSantis, for your efforts to keep Florida as a top destination for financial services businesses seeking opportunities to develop and expand. The Office of Financial Regulation remains committed to protecting Floridians from financial scams and bad actors while allowing for growth and innovation in the financial services industry.”
The budget highlights include an allocation of $52.6 million aimed at growing Florida's financial services sector, providing regulatory oversight to over 520,000 entities, and safeguarding residents from financial fraud. Additionally, $5 million is designated for modernizing OFR's online regulatory platform to enhance user experience and platform intuitiveness.
