Florida announces disaster food aid sites after hurricanes Helene and Milton

The Department of Children and Families has announced Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) locations for residents of Columbia, DeSoto, Lake, Lee, and Manatee counties. This initiative is aimed at providing food assistance to Florida residents affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton who are not already receiving aid through the regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Residents in these counties who pre-registered online but did not complete their D-SNAP phone interview can visit their county's D-SNAP location for an in-person interview. Those who completed a phone interview do not need to attend in person.

The Department will reopen pre-registration for those who have not yet registered online. Residents are encouraged to pre-register online before attending the on-site interview. Online registration opens on the first day of each event and closes on the last day. Pre-registration can be done at www.myflfamilies.com/DSNAP.

The specific locations, dates, and times for each county are as follows:

- **Lee County**: Lee Civic Center, North Fort Myers; December 13-15, 2024; 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

- **Lake County**: Lake-Sumter State College, Leesburg; December 14-16, 2024; 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

- **DeSoto County**: DeSoto County Fairgrounds, Arcadia; December 16-18, 2024; 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

- **Columbia County**: Florida Gateway Fairgrounds, Lake City; December 19-21, 2024; 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

- **Manatee County**: Tom Bennett Park, Bradenton; December 19-21, 2024; 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Current SNAP recipients are not eligible for D-SNAP and should not attend these events. Those approved during a telephone interview will receive their EBT card by mail and also should not attend in person.

Only residents from the specified counties should attend their respective D-SNAP events as individuals from other counties will not be served at these locations.

Media representatives planning to cover any D-SNAP event must contact the Department’s Press Office beforehand via email. Media interviews will only be available on the first day of each event with prior scheduling required.
