Governor Ron DeSantis has announced the appointment of George Heisel and the reappointment of Carlos Duart to the Florida International University Board of Trustees. These appointments will take effect on January 7, 2025.
George Heisel is a shareholder at ExpoCredit. He has been involved in various community activities, including serving on the Young Presidents’ Organization’s Miami Chapter Board of Directors and the Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center Foundation Board. Heisel holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Babson College.
Carlos Duart serves as the Chief Executive Officer of CDR Companies, Inc. His community involvement includes membership on the Florida International University College of Engineering Dean’s Advisory Board and participation in the Florida International University Transportation Center’s Steering Committee. Duart earned both his bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in taxation from Florida International University.
The appointments are pending confirmation by the Florida Senate.
