Governor Ron DeSantis has announced the appointment of 63 individuals to Florida's Judicial Nominating Commissions. These appointments include both new appointees and reappointments across various districts and circuits.
For the Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission, Daniel Nordby from Tallahassee, Jesse Panuccio from Fort Lauderdale, Harout Samra from Coral Gables, Heather Stearns from Tallahassee, and Timothy Cerio from Tallahassee have been reappointed with terms ending between July 1, 2026, and July 1, 2028.
In the First District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission, James Percival and Gary Hunter, both based in Tallahassee, have been reappointed. Brad McVay also joins as a new appointee with terms ending on July 1, 2028.
The Second District sees Chad Mizelle and Tyler Cathey from Tampa continuing their service until July 1, 2028. Adam Foslid and Lauren Morse continue their roles in the Third District until the same date.
Debra Jenks of Palm Beach Gardens continues her tenure in the Fourth District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission along with new appointees Daniel Epstein and Jonathan Osborne. The Fifth District includes M. Scott Thomas, Amanda Carl, Carrie Eisnaugle, and newcomer Alan Wachs.
The Sixth District welcomes Amira Fox as a new appointee alongside Joshua Grosshans and Ronald Edwards for terms ending on July 1, 2028. For individual judicial circuits such as the First through Eighteenth Circuits across Florida counties including Jacksonville to Miami-Dade County numerous legal professionals have been appointed or reappointed for varying term lengths ending between July 1, 2026 to July 1, 2028.
These appointments are part of an ongoing effort by Governor DeSantis to ensure experienced legal professionals contribute to the judicial selection process throughout Florida's courts.
