Florida Farm Bureau members inducted into 2025 Agricultural Hall of Fame

Three members of the Florida Farm Bureau have been selected for induction into the 2025 Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame. The inductees are recognized for their contributions to agriculture and conservation in the state.

The Lightsey family, known for their commitment to land conservation, has dedicated 80 percent of their Polk County land to conservation easements. This effort preserves thousands of acres of environmentally sensitive areas and provides wildlife habitat. "The Lightseys are passionate about agriculture and preserving the land so that future generations are able to enjoy 'Old Florida.'" They have received multiple awards for their dedication.

Another inductee, Strickland, is a steward of the land with ranching roots dating back to the 1800s. His interest in agriculture and conservation began early as development encroached on his farm. He is committed to finding solutions to protect Florida ranchlands and has been nationally recognized for his work in agricultural conservation.

The third inductee has spent over five decades in integrated pest management and serves as a mentor to upcoming growers. She supports the land-grant system and has been acknowledged by various organizations for her mentorship and dedication to the industry.
