FloridaCommerce has allocated over $8 million to 13 small cities in Florida through the Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. This initiative, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and managed by FloridaCommerce, aims to provide essential resources for municipalities and counties across the state.
The funding is intended to assist low- to moderate-income residents, address urgent community needs, and promote sustainable development. Since 2019, more than $100 million in CDBG funds have been distributed to over 120 communities throughout Florida.
“Under Governor DeSantis’ decisive leadership, FloridaCommerce continues to make critical infrastructure investments in Florida’s small cities,” stated J. Alex Kelly, Florida Secretary of Commerce. “These investments help to support communities as they work to create the brightest future possible for their residents.”
