As of yesterday morning, emergency response teams from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) have conducted preliminary assessments on more than 10,000 lane miles of state roads. A total of 181 FDOT crews have carried out cut-and-toss operations to remove debris from over 6,596 miles of road. Currently, all state roadways are clear except those that remain inaccessible or flooded.

In a move to ensure swift support for affected policyholders, Insurance Commissioner Yaworsky from the Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) has contacted property and casualty insurance companies with customers in Hurricane Debby's projected path. He instructed insurers to activate their disaster claims-handling procedures promptly.
