FloridaCommerce has announced the availability of $38 million in funding for non-entitlement units of local government through the Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The funds are allocated for Federal Fiscal Year 2023 and 2024, targeting Neighborhood Revitalization, Housing Rehabilitation, Commercial Revitalization, and Economic Development.
The agency is urging rural communities and those impacted by storm-related infrastructure damage to apply for this financial support to address critical resiliency needs. In response to feedback from small cities and rural areas, FloridaCommerce has removed funding limits and simplified the application process by eliminating restrictions that previously allowed only one grant application per cycle.
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Eastern Time on May 2, 2025. Interested parties should contact CDBG@Commerce.fl.gov to obtain a link to the electronic application portal or further instructions on submission procedures. Comprehensive guidance will be provided via email upon request.
A webinar was conducted by FloridaCommerce on February 28, 2025, offering technical assistance and an overview of the application process. The session's recording and presentation can be accessed on the FloridaCommerce Small Cities CDBG webpage.
