Today, FloridaCommerce announced the availability of more than $970 million in funding for the Office of Broadband's BEAD Deployment program. The program aims to provide high-speed, reliable broadband to unserved and underserved areas across the state.
Since 2020, FloridaCommerce has been facilitating programs to deliver high-speed internet to unserved and underserved businesses, homes, farms, and community anchor institutions. Small cities and rural communities in Florida have received 85% of broadband infrastructure grants. These grants ensure that Floridians have reliable internet access for workforce, education, and health monitoring opportunities.
Eligible applicants include internet service providers with a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) provider license in Florida. Collaborative applications between eligible entities are encouraged to maximize the impact of the grant funding.
The deadline for applications is Monday, August 4, 2025, at 5 p.m. Eastern Time via the online Broadband Application Portal. Pre-registration is required to receive credentials.
FloridaCommerce recently hosted a webinar providing technical assistance and an overview of the application process. Recordings are available on the Office of Broadband webpage.
